The tenth Memorial Day Service was held at the Puckapunyal Military Base on Sunday 16th March 2008. Each year since the dedication of the Victorian National Servicemen’s Association Monument at Puckapunyal in 1999. A Service has been held to remember those National Servicemen who are no longer with us. 

This Service is dedicated to all three Services, Army, Navy & Air force. 

The Service is preceded by a march past starting at the old National Service Lines. Over 200  Ex-Nashos marched the distance of 1km past the Saluting Dais and finishing in Blamey Ave at the Memorial Park. The Salute is taken by the Commanding Officer of the Base.
The march was headed by the  4/19th Prince of Wales’s Light Horse Band led by WO1 Gary Nicholls.

Brig. Mal Reardon, CSC. Puckapunyal's Senior Area Representative took the salute.

Wreaths were laid during the Service by Presidents of the Victorian Sub-Branches the
State President Douglas Black
State Patrons Brigadier D Ball AM, RFD, ADC.
includeing representatives of the State Sub Branches.

The Service was conducted by State Chaplain Gordon Hoskin.

MC For the Service was Jim Oliver. 

All Ex National Servicemen of the three Services are most welcome to attend on these days each year.

Assembly for the march is at 1000hrs with the Service starting at approx 1100hrs.

STATE PICNIC

After the completion of the Service, members, guests and families stay on for the Annual Picnic and meet.        
This is a BYO everything and members mix and have a good old chat.

Sub-Branches have for sale various National Service memorabilia shirts etc for sale.

The day normally winds up around 1430hrs.

A visit to the RAAC Tank Museum is a must.
