The tenth Memorial Day Service was held
at the Puckapunyal Military Base on Sunday 16th March 2008. Each year since the
dedication of the Victorian National Servicemens
This Service is dedicated
to all three Services, Army, Navy & Air force.
The Service is preceded by
a march past starting at the old National Service Lines. Over 200 Ex-Nashos marched the distance of 1km past the
Saluting Dais and finishing in
The march was headed by the 4/19th Prince of Waless Light Horse
Band led by WO1 Gary Nicholls.
Brig. Mal Reardon, CSC. Puckapunyal's Senior Area Representative took the salute.
Wreaths were laid during
the Service by Presidents of the Victorian Sub-Branches the
State President Douglas Black
State Patrons Brigadier D Ball AM, RFD, ADC.
includeing representatives of the State Sub Branches.
The Service was conducted
by State Chaplain Gordon Hoskin.
MC For the Service was Jim
Oliver.
All Ex National Servicemen
of the three Services are most welcome to attend on these days each year.
Assembly for the march is
at 1000hrs with the Service starting at approx 1100hrs.
THE NEXT MEMORIAL DAY WILL BE HELD ON 15th MARCH 2009

After the completion of
the Service, members, guests and families stay on for the Annual Picnic and meet.
This is a BYO everything and members mix and have a good old chat.
Sub-Branches have for sale
various National Service memorabilia shirts etc for sale.
The day normally winds up
around 1430hrs.
